Stitch 'n Bitch Groups
This group started in 2005, when three knitters who couldn't make it to the New Haven group's meetings set up their own.

Meeting size now varies between six and 16 members of all skill levels and ranging in age from early 20s to retirement. We welcome newbies and are happy to help work out knitting or crochet problems. Complete beginners don't need to be shy - many of the members taught themselves in the last few years, so we know how daunting the start can be.
I love this group. Everyone is very welcoming and super friendly. We have a wide variety of members that show up every week, young and old, knitters and crocheters, with every single skill level.
When I started coming to this group, I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was! It's so hard to just walk up to a table full of strangers, but they made it so easy. They are so welcoming and excited to meet new people. Since I've started coming, we've had several new members join, as well. Any one of us will help you learn to knit or crochet, or help you out with any problems you might come across.

A poor reflection on Stitch ‘n Bitch international. Extremely cliquey, unfriendly, unwelcoming to new members.
I'm sorry you felt that way, it was certainly not intentional.
