Who triumphed in the third episode? (Picture: BBC)
watches There’s nothing more British than Bake Off apart from maybe tea or cricket. So what better than the Sport Relief Bake Off? I defy you to think of something. You can’t can you? No. I win.
swiss Mechanical movement replica watches For each of four nights this week a fresh batch of four celebrities will battle it out to be crowned Star Baker and win a very fetching Sport Relief apron before passing on the baton (or should that be Battenberg?) to the next four, like a relay race for cake makers.

high quality replica watches for men Taking their turn in the tent tonight were popstar Jamelia, Comic Relief co-founder Emma Freud, Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton and West End star Michael Ball. The host this time was comedian Omid Djalili.

cheap watches 16 traybakes were the first challenge for our celebs to have a bash at.
Jamelia had ameretto liqueur to hand (Picture: BBC)
Jamelia bakes at home for her two daughters but when it came to the Bake Off tent she started to lose the plot, turning quickly to the amaretto liqueur she was using in her bake.
Emma Freud had obviously cracked too, going for a candied bacon chocolate brownie. What madness is this?
Michael Ball had invented his own traybake recipe combining the ingredients of a hot toddy, with whiskey, lemon and cloves. Paul tried to pretend he didn’t like them but couldn’t keep the smile off his face.

Victoria said she wasn’t worried about the competitive element of the task but her Olympic spirit soon showed through when she saw the results of the others’ efforts. Her pecan and apricot blondies came out looking the best but oddly it was Freud’s pork-packed sweets that won over the judges.
The Technical Challenge

New York Times theatre critic Frank Rich wants to watch his back if Michael Ball’s kneading is anything to go by, ‘Take. That. Frank. Rich’ he puffed as he pounded his dough into submission.

After Jamelia getting her timings wrong with her traybakes, she started a panic among the group by taking her doughnuts out of the proving drawer before anybody else, causing Freud and Ball to spring into action.
Despite taking her dough out early Emma Freud came out top with her well-iced doughnuts, Ball’s icing was too thick and his dough injured from being under proved.
The Showstopper Challenge
This evening’s showstopper was one of epic proportions, a layer cake depicting favourite sporting heroes.
Victoria made a cake tribute to Chris Hoy (Picture: BBC)
Victoria was making a six-layer Chris Hoy tribute with coffee, chocolate and vanilla flavours and her icing on the cake; some spun sugar on the side.
Michael Ball, in a nod to his favourite wrestler, was recreating a fondant ‘Big Daddy’ complete with wrestling ring and crowd heads.
Emma was again going a little bit controversial with a replica of the infamous bottom scratching, female tennis player from the posters, as well as a giant half-tennis ball positioned on a giant racket.

Paul was impressed by the idea but reminded Emma a child had crafted a fully rounded ball in Junior Bake Off.

Jamelia’s cake was homage to the Jamaican relay team with black and green cake layers sandwiched with yellow, pineapple buttercream. The outside of the cake was also covered in the same icing. The three fondant members of the Olympic winning relay team sat atop the cake looking like they’d had a few too many celebratory drinks.

Unfortunately Jamelia didn’t quite get the sizes of her layers right and ended up having to use scissors to trim into shape, a new approach to cake making.
Star Baker
Rightfully Emma Freud won the apron and the prestigious title of Star Baker, though I’m still not sure I’d eat a bacon brownie.
Bake Fails
Writing ‘I love you Mary’ in icing alongside his doughnuts didn’t win Michael any points with Paul, and his doughnuts were still rubbish.

Bun Puns
A pun from Paul would you believe; ‘Nice whoppers Em’. Less a pun more a bit pervy actually.
Next Time
The final four wannabe Star Bakers step into the tent to take part in the Sport Relief Bake Off.
