Rand's calculated method of theft "was to go into the store without a bag, pick up one from the display, walk around with it on her shoulder for a while, then simply walk out of the store," prosecutor David Wooler told

moncler kieds Rand would then sell her handbag haul, which included holdalls from Mulberry, Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Burberry, to online buyers on websites including eBay. Rand is known to have made around ¬£88,000 from her thieving, which she pursued in order "to fund her lifestyle."

Judge Rhys Rowlands, who sentenced Rand to 18 months in jail, told her, "You showed professionalism and that is why you went undetected for so long. You travelled the country with the sole purpose of theft and you made a successful albeit dishonest business of selling stolen handbags."

"Crimes against retailers impact all of the community as it has the effect of making goods more expensive for everyone else," chimed in C Rhodri Parry, from Gwent Police, while House of Fraser has commended the vigilance of the Cwmbran store team for acting promptly to catch her.
