I am trying to find out where the local yarn group for the Jefferson Park area is, or if there is one. Also looking to find the local yarn store in the area. Any assistance would be great!

Just got your post today. I am moving there the first week of July. I'm not sure whether you can wait that long. I don't have a choice. I'm handing over the reins on the knitting/fibrous art group that I started where I currently live, and I don't yet know the area well enough to figure out where to hold it. However, I will do some investigating as soon as I get out there, unless you beat me to it. Hope to meet you soon at the first meeting of whatever we end up calling ourselves.

mandylinda, We're interested in starting a group for people interested in fibrous arts- that means knitting, crocheting, tatting, spining, bobbin lace, weaving, or whatever else people are interested in doing within the Jefferson Park, Chicago area. I won't be moved out there until the end of this week, and I'm not sure whether there is already something established that would work for this. If not, I started a group like this in Utah, and would like to have another group in Illinois. If you are interested in joining us, you are more than welcome to. I like open groups where anyone can join for free. It all depends upon the location- public place that has access during a time that is amenable, with food options close by or within the place. Usually cafes are good for this, such as are within bookstores. Details to be forth-coming soon.
